As no surprise the Frank Matuszek Memorial Skirmish near Streator, IL, was an extremely hot two day skirmish. The Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison honored former ACWSA President Gary Van Kauwenbergh by setting up a display in their American Civil War exhibition. Gary Van Kauwenbergh gets special mention for all of his efforts assisting the museum and his donation of a Lorenz musket.
The final ACWSA skirmish of the year was hosted by the 15th Wisconsin. Saturday was a very warm day with very little breeze for the initial portions of the skirmish. Many ACWSA units were present and many targets were broken. We had some very humid weather at Bristol despite the temperature sitting in the low 80’s.
